Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, NC
Look at the beauty a lighthouse gives
Brightening shores where ‘ere you live.
We take for granted that pretty sight
When seen by day, but what by night?*
CAPE HATTERAS LIGHTHOUSE, NC from CRYSTAL WORLD's VistaLight Collection, honors America's tallest and most famous sentinel. Warning mariners off the treacherous Diamond Shoals, the historic light tower was built in 1871 on Hatteras Island, in North Carolina's Outer Banks. Between 1999 and 2000, because of shore erosion, the lighthouse was safely moved 870 meters inland in one of the most ambitious relocation projects in history. Today the "Big Barber Pole", as the lighthouse is affectionately called, is part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and remains an active navigation aid. CAPE HATTERAS LIGHTHOUSE, NC, a handsome crystal figurine from CRYSTAL WORLD, will make a fabulous gift for any lighthouse aficionado, history buff or lover of the Outer Banks. Utilizing a fascinating colorization technique, and standing larger than traditional crystal figurines, VistaLight sculptures are the ideal objects of art to complete any decorative setting. CAPE HATTERAS LIGHTHOUSE, NC was designed by award-winning artist and CRYSTAL WORLD Founder, Rudy Nakai. Measures 8 Inches Tall.
